With a choice of WC/Q in Round 2, followed by the 4Seed in the QFs, it's hard to see how the draw could have been kinder...

Good stuff.

As well as challenging her CH, possibly with just a QF here, 4 points from a SF here would take Laura up to 22 ranking points and GB no 14 in two weeks time, passing over a tightly knit and variously inactive group of 6 players.

The 6 being Silva, Murray, Foster, Taylor, Dean and Christie. Lots of potential for ranking rises there if generally fit!

Don't know about Manisha.

Eden and Gabbi retired from their last matches that I am aware of so I assume have been injured. It's now been about six months for Gabbi though.

Clearly Sam and Eleanor have been.

Think Freya is fine. She played a few weeks ago (a month ago?) and seems to be doing school events/training. i.e. active
