R1: Jocelyn RAE/Anna SMITH (GBR/GBR) 172 vs. Ysaline BONAVENTURE/Demi SCHUURS (BEL/NED) 197
Though Joss & Anna are the higher ranked pair, the opposition won their last International event together, just a few weeks ago in Katowice. Bonaventure also won Rio De Janeiro at the same level earlier this year. However, in between those two titles, the pairs met in a $50K in Croissy-Beauborg, from which our ladies emerged victorious, 6-2 7-6(2) So, I guess, anything could happen! Winners face #1 seeds Mladenovic & Babos.
Scoreboard does some funny tricks, first showing the girls as quadruple match point down at 5-9*, then eventually re-jigging to *7-8, but after missing a match point at 9-8* they go out 6-4 6-7(1) 11-9
I know it's clay and it's tough for them, but they do seem to have hit a bit of a wall on the Tour . All very well cleaning up ITFs but they need to be winning these matches now, they're not making the progress as a pair I was hoping/expecting so far in 2015, losing to a few iffy pairs and getting whalloped by those which are established. With 42 points coming off next Monday they are precariously close to dropping back out side the top 100.

Another heartbreaking loss, after looking out of it 8-5 down in the MTB getting to MP. Ah well, I wonder where they will play next, maybe Strasbourg, not high enough ranked for RG.

France for the 100k then 50k+H? Then Strasbourg as you say before a week training on the grass during the first week of the French?
With some big scores to come off in July, the grass is an important time of year. Plenty of great opportunities for them too though.
They are clearly too good to be playing 10/25k ITF and not consistent enough to play WTA events regularly, so need to focus on 50-100k events. The only issue is that there aren't that many of them around(scheduling is horrendous)
