Not a fairytale ending with a winner in his last race, but watching it and the send-off he received made me feel quite emotional. An amazing career, deserved all the applause and good wishes at Sandown today.
Was quite a day and a such a well deserved send off and at least by finishing 3rd he did finish in the winning enclosure.
Now here's hoping next season's champion jockey is the man who did win in AP's final race, Richard Johnson, runner up in the jockeys chanpionship 16 times.
Be a bit of a let down for his last horse next time, even if it wins, after all that cheering and parading back in front of the stands after finishing third !
