With Moore, Dart And Cavaday all choosing the Japan grass 50k as first preference, and currently Alts3,4,5, we could have 7 of the UK top 10 playing there.
NaomiB is the defending champ, and defending her biggest ever title, and her highest current ranking points score.

1. If a player has made MD in any of the events entered, they are withdrawn from all others and then left in the MD event to which they have given the highest priority.
2. If they haven't made MD in any of them, they are left in all events in which they have made Q and withdrawn from all others and then assigned to the Q event to which the have given the highest priority.
3. If they haven't made MD or Q of any tournaments, they remain on all lists in which the are alt but can still withdraw at any point up to a couple of days before the event. The moment they move onto a Q list (due to late withdrawals), they are removed from all other events regardless of priority and are then committed to that event and cannot withdraw without penalty.
Huge week for the women, this being the start of the grass court season.
Particularly for NaomiB, who picked up 170 points on the green stuff in 2014. If you consider that only 16 girls will have got more than that at Wimbledon, NB might well be among the top 25 or so grass-court players over the last 12 months.
Or, if your glass is half empty, she has shedloads of points to defend coming up. Nearly 60% of her total.
I suspect James would put up with that 'problem' :)
But BiS might not be so understanding after a drive to the Spanish capital
As far as Wardy is concerned, I'll take anything that gets him into the top 100, although hopefully that milestone is done and dusted by then. I will have plenty of alternatives if he is still playing the Challenger. My master plan is to travel up to Mostoles early on Fri 1st May where, as long as Willbomb doesn't let me down by getting knocked out early, he will be playing his quarter final. That is just outside Madrid. Sat and Sun will depend on Marcus progressing and whatever GB action is scheduled in Madrid. They often start the doubles and women earlier, so there is a chance the Jamie/John, Dom/whoever and Heather might be playing.
Mon and Tues will definitely be at the Madrid Masters, after which I will either be back home, or if TAP pilots cancel their strike, I could be flying back out to Brazil from Madrid on the Weds.
Lots of jigsaw pieces in there. We'll just have to see how they fit when the time comes.
