Week 14 - Tunisia F13 ($10,000) - El Kantaoui (Hard)

Neil and Mark Whitehouse and Imran should be in the MD.

Byes for Nick and Peter in R1:

QR1: Ross-Tiree Wilson lost to Victor Ouvrard (FRA) UNR  6-1 6-2

QR2: Nick Eeckelaers def.  Tom Does (NED) UNR age 17   6-2  7-6(4)

QR2: Peter Ashley  v  Yassine Mhrir (TUN)  UNR age 16

Nick will now get the top q seed, WR 335 (!!!), ranked higher than the best player in the main draw acceptance list !! (At the risk of repeating myself . . . Ok, I won't ... )

Hi Bob - didn't know you were on here too! Are you thinking of coming to the next DC draw?

Didn't you know ?  I actually live here wink

Would love to make it to the next DC tie, but a lot of things will need to fall into place work wise if that is to happen.

No luck but an excellent score by Nick against the WR 335!

FQR: Peter Ashley lost to Hugo Voljacques (FRA) UNR 6-4 6-4

Both matches were fairly close and both unlucky not to win. Neil hasn't ended up seeded in the end. ITF can't have updated the rankings today but ATP have - based on ATP be would have been, but not ITF.

Seedings are always based on the previous weeks rankings.

L32: Mark Whitehouse WR 1105 v Ameur Ben Hassen (TUN)(WC) WR 1720
L32: Neil Pauffley WR 678 v Tom Jomby (FRA) (8) WR 666
L32: Imran Aswat WR 1250 v Daniil Medvedev (RUS) (6) WR 630

Decent draw for Mark. I'd expect a fit Neil to take out the seed. Imran has a young Russian who is climbing up the ranking and will be difficult to beat.

Not so sure about Neil, paulisi.

Tom Jomby is a handy college graduate who is definitely under-ranked - he;s only got half a year of results as he didn't start pro stuff until September last year (and never really played before that). Beat Dave Rice a couple of weeks ago (although that's not that indicative of much . . .)

Huge guy, tall and heavy, and majorly into basketball, I believe.

But Neil's been playing well and certainly has more experience. Good luck, sherbert . .

Ah ok, I thought they normally did the rankings on that current week? 678 is what it says on ITF This week and that's what all the players seem to be on this week.

Oh dear Coup Droit - that hasn't made me feel better at all haha! Have to see what tomorrow brings and just hope he can get through. Quite a bit of defending coming up soon.

I have complete faith in Neil, sherbert !!!

It was just background - never seen Tom play live - probably doesn't move well, like lots of big guys smile Neil will put him in his place (fingers crossed)

The ITF ranking page is often late to update - would that make a difference in your ranking thing?

Yea - on ITF Neil has a ranking of 678 and on ATP a ranking of 665...the 8th seed is 666 so would have meant he was seeded. Very close numbers!

I'm hoping for a good week out here - my fingers are crossed too!
