Good luck Hev intrigued by why it is a 731k such an arbitrary figure?

Vekic is no longer trained by Felgate, I believe? And no longer based in London? To do with NTC being closed ? OR completely unconnected? Over with John Evert?

Great to see Heather getting tangible reward for her last 2 tournaments with a #16 ranking here :)
In theory 2 match-ups against lower ranked opposition before facing 3rd seed Petkovic ranked 10 in R3...

They split before Christmas - assume because Vekic was (and still is) having a very poor run of results.  Now with John Evert in the States.  Don't think she ever trained regularly at NTC but at Northwood which I think is Felgate's initiative.

Let's hope the coaching change hasn't reinvigorated young Vekic for this match!

Well the way Vekic is going this should be a win for Hev but you never know when someone finally clicks.

This is basically a bye given Vekic's shocking form. I believe Vekic split with Felgate after Wimby last year certainly before the US open. If you'd witnessed Vekic's body language at the FedCup you would have a very low opinion of her right at this moment. And she hates clay. Something seriously wrong with her and I wouldn't say its 100% lack of confidence. 1st seed that Hev would play is Petko who is good on clay and in form, I'd be very hopeful of Hev reaching R3.

*2-4 Hev a break down

Story so far. Hev's been quite flat a few bad errors. Vekic has been making winners from all over the place, and serving well.

Woeful 'tennis' from Hev in that first set

Heathers big problem so far is a lack of 1-2 punch. She hits a good shot/serve but then doesn't put away the next shot. Her footwork has been poor around the ball. Could be adjustment to a new surface?

3-6

Much better start for Hev in set two, some better tactical play.

3-6 2-0*

Serve not working great yet.

Awful. You would think Heather was the player who hadn't won a main draw set all year.

Its like she cant be bothered

*2-3
