Inglot-Mergea split

A surprise when they were 5th in the race. Mergea now playing with Bopanna.

http://www.ovidiublag.ro/2015/03/exclusiv-florin-mergea-are-un-nou-partener-de-dublu-pe-indianul-bopanna-fost-numar-3-mondial-in-2013/

A google translation of the article:

Tournament in Miami was the last for the couple walked, Inglot, the two came to the conclusion that can put an end to their collaboration with elegance.Florin Mergea has big plans, he longs to climb further in the rankings, and from this point of view can not be said of objectives that were synchronized with those of the British, who has a problem at one sîcîitoare knee're trying from time to time ...

The story of finding new partner is very interesting and worthwhile relationship.

Rohan Bopanna go and is known for a long time (and have played together and did it very well), there is the idea that, that one day would be excluded collaboration. This time, they went and Inglot have decided to put the double point that I have made, things are pretty fast scroll-Florin phoned Bopanna: the idea was to find a partner in the short term, given that after a week free and had to move quickly. Indian not only agreed but raised, asked him what he thought Florin long term and whether they want to play together all year. And so it was decided to start with Casablanca, Monte Carlo and then to work for a long time.

Rohan Bopanna Returning to the Indian, he was number 3 worldwide in 2013 and has won 12 titles in career, two this year, Dubai and Syndey, both with Daniel Nestor, is considered one of the players iconic circuit in the 35 years his own.

To ride this partnership is likely to work, Bopanna having a contest remarkable experience.

Unfortunate for Dom as the partnership was clearly working reasonably well but unfortunately this is how the cut throat world of doubles works. Dom called time on his partnership with Treat Huey because he wasn't happy with how things were going, and I think most of us felt that Huey was the weak link of the team. This time it seems that the reverse happened.

Quite a surprise indeed. Can't be thrilling Nestor either.

Gutting, I hope Dom can find a partner soon before his ranking drops and it becomes hard to get into the bigger tournies again.

Well with his current ranking of 41 he will need a top 20 maybe top 25 player to get into the upcoming clay court Masters.

disappointing news! without knowing how Dom is feeling at the moment, I hope he is ok and finds the right partner soon.

The world of Men's doubles is brutal, lots of back stabbing etc., just what the doctor didn't order.

I know that Jamie M has a regular partner now in John Peers, but there is a part of me that wonders whether perhaps he would now team up with Dom, given their excellent performance at the DC in Glasgow. I doubt it though.

Remember what happened the last time Jamie decided to end a fairly successful partnership?

I seriously hope he never repeats that mistake.

I can't imagine he would. Last time it was, as he himself said afterwards, a case of hubris - big names came a-calling, and he was flattered and thought himself better than he was. In this instance, Mr Murray knows himself better; he and Mr Peers both seem to value the stability they have together; and (in purely practical terms) Mr Inglot is actually lower ranked than both.

Very disappointed for Mr Inglot, though. And slightly worried that his knee issues may be more serious than we've known, given the role they evidently played in the split. Hope he can continue well and with a good partner.

for Davis Cup purposes I think it would be a good idea if Dom and Jamie could practise and play together. even if it were only for a few months while GB is competing in the DC. the doubles could be the deciding factor in any rounds GB plays. as it has been said Jamie and John appear to have a good partnership and it would be a shame if that were compromised but it could work. I don't know if John plays doubles for Australia and if he does who he plays with.

I do hope that Dom can fix up a new partnership asap and the knee isn't as much of an issue as Mergea ( for whatever reasons ) appears to make out.

Whether or not he plays / practices any more with Jamie ( who I agree would probably be unwise to compromise his partnership with Peers ), for me Dom and Jamie as of now most certainly look natural picks for the Davis Cup tie in July. So would be great all round to have him settled, confident and playing well.

Sounds like the knee could be worse than thought. Dom has just tweeted

Sitting in west Middlesex hospitals urgent care waiting to see doc. If I'm outta here in 3hrs it will be an Easter miracle! #distressed

All assuming that is about the knee of course. But if it is, I can't understand why he isn't seeing a private specialist. So maybe it is about something completely different.
