We'd hoped (from the acceptance list) that Laura would be seeded 4 and so pretty much guaranteed a SF spot (the field is VERY weak, as PaulM - I think it was - pointed out).
However, obviously the weak field didn't escape the notice of in-form Fuentes (who beat EWS) and so she went via qualies and is now seeded three and will, in theory, play Laura in the Quarters.
But even a QF result would be a very welcome result for Laura - shame not more of the GB girls went there to take advantage (good that not more of the other nationalities did!).
Go to Manama? Nah! (do doo do do do), Manama? Nah! (do doo do do), Manama? Nah! (do doo do do do, do doo do, do doo do, do doo-do-do-do, do do do do do).

How week is the field this week. The top seed is already out and the other seeds aren't that highly ranked, great chance for Laura to pick up lots of points.

Do you really think Laura stands a good chance against Fuentes? Well, that's be great - hope you're right.
But Laura has done the easy bit, winning 6-2 6-1
Will almost certainly get the top-500 player who beat Em WS a few weeks back next. Can't be that hopeful myself but could be wrong . . .
