Weeks 12-13 - ATP Masters 1000 - Miami, USA + doubles

I would agree with the commentators that Kyle didn't look fluid on the short ball and made too many unforced errors on that shot.

In terms of wildcards, last year may have been a bit early as he wasn't established at challenger level. He clearly is now and needs to have to odd attempt at the next level up.

I agree this WC was warranted, last year obviously you could question a couple.

I feel it has really helped him to get a feel for the tour it is given his progression very likely he will play at that level for a decade. I do not think in anyway has Kyles progress been inhibited by his wc they have only given him experience at 18,19,20 he is allowed to loose the non counters are an irrelevance as is exact ranking he just needs tone playing at a level apropriate to his development and there are reason other than winning to seek exposure which will haveong term benefit

I think you have for a long time been plowing a lone furrow, Oakland, re Kyle's 2014 first half of the year schedule and WCs.

Nothing wrong in that, of course, just saying. And there is simply no chance of me for one joining you in that furrow.

As I said, I don't have any particular issues re this latest Miami WC.

On ranking alone I would have thought he deserved his chance.

I know just me the LTA and Kyles management team. Last year he got well beaten in Marseille but dealt with his vanquisher a couple of weeks ago in a challenger. Having seen him before last year did him no halm.

A weaker scoreline than I'd anticipated ... though the result's not a surprise given their opponents' strength. Ah well, on to the next tournament!

Another really tough match. But whatever happens, Mr Murray already has his 90 points to replace a 0 from last year.

Jamie & John's match is scheduled as the last of six doubles matches on Court 2.

The final is once again Pospisil/Sock v Bryan/Bryan. Am rather inclined to think that this may be a bit of a gift for doubles - two very dynamic partnerships ... the aging champions and the young upstarts ... a genuine rivalry ... and all from the fairly major North American market. Hope that it will create space for more prominence for the metier overall.

Pospisil and Sock have some record in doubles given they don't play together that often.
