There are new rulebooks for 2022 available on the ITF website. The following is copied from the summary of changes, and sets out explicitly how the ranking points will drop off.

Section XIII. ITF WORLD TENNIS RANKINGS
A. Introduction
ITF World Tennis Ranking points are also awarded in ITF World Tennis Tour Tournaments. The ITF World Tennis Ranking system is a 52-week, cumulative system in which the number of Tournament results that comprise a players ranking is capped at a players best fourteen (14) Tournament results for singles and best fourteen (14) Tournament results for doubles. This system was modified in 2020 and again 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Points from all tournaments played 4th March 2019 onwards were frozen and therefore eligible to be counted amongst a players best fourteen (14) tournaments. Subject to any further amendments, the ITF World Tennis Ranking is scheduled to return to a 52-week system in Week 1 of 2023 by the following procedure:
All remaining points from 2019 (March to December) drop on 4th April 2022.
Points from 2020 drop on a weekly basis from January 2022.
Points from 2021 are dropped on a weekly basis, as normal during 2022.
Ranking returns to a 52-week system in Week 1 2023.
To avoid any confusion as I posted above what is stated here relates to ITF ranking points. For WTA ranking points from ITF events it is still unknown whether the changes announced from last April is still the plan.
The latest information I can find from the WTA is an updated version (October) of their 2021 Covid Rules. Whether this is actually happening as set out is anybodies guess, unless you go into individual details,
RANKINGS
The current BETTER OF ranking system and rules will remain in place through the Tournament week of March 15, 2021 (i.e., the week prior to Miami), which results in a better of ranking system for March 4, 2019 March 21, 2021.
At the conclusion of the 2021 Miami Tournament, points will begin to drop and the traditional ranking system will transition into place. Starting with the April 5, 2021 ranking, 2021 ranking points are replacing 2019 ranking points or the better of 2019/2020 ranking points, as applicable (with the exception of 2020 Tournaments held more than 4 weeks outside the originally scheduled dates and Tournaments not held in 2021).
Welcome to the top 1,000 Eliz Maloney, up 76 to WR990. The top 9 are unchanged to what CD posted last week Week 1 points defending Heather: 13 (Brisbane 2020) (17th counter 13pts) No other GB woman is defending counting points this week.
No major moves this week, but Emma is up 1 to a new career high of 18. Tara is the biggest climber this week, up 5 to 400. Jodie is up 3 to 213. Next week Heather has the first of her big points from 2020 coming off, along with last years Abu Dhabi points so is going to need a good week this week to avoid a hefty drop next week.
Points/Counters dropping next week (17 Jan) [according to the official WTA ranking sheet] Heather 158 (128 from Hobart 2020, 30 from Abu Dhabi 2021) Katie B 55 (Gippsland Trophy 2021) Jodie 13 (Abu Dhabi 2021) Yarra Valley and Grampian Trophy non-counting 1 point counters are also dropping for Fran and Heather respectively.
ITF counters added in 2020 and 2021 for the corresponding week are also dropping in full but not affecting GB women next week except for a 1 point non-counting counter for Katie B and Sam.
Aus Open points to defend, dropping in 3 weeks (from 2021 unless stated) Heather 70 Harriet 110 (from 2020) Katie B 10 Fran 40
Heather is the main change in the rankings this week, down 20, as Hobart 2020 and Abu Dhabi 2021 points drop off. Fran retakes GB#4 from Katie B. New career highs for Fran (150), Beth (317) and Eliz (997) although Eliz will smash that in the next rankings update. There should be lots of movement lower down the rankings when the points from Bath are added after the AO.
Out of interest for the women's WTA rankings generally I had a look at the points from the singles finalists in two 2020 week 1 ITFs ( Canberra W25 and Antalya W15 ) and also two 2021 ITF week 1 ITFs ( Cairo W15 and Antalya W15 ).
In all these cases all their points earned in these tournaments dropped off on the 2022 anniversary of being added - ie. in the last rankings update on 17.01.22
We knew that the WTA ramking were taking off all WTA tournament points on their anniversaries. This seems to confirm that they are now also taking off all ITF tournament points on their anniversaries of being added. To my mind, very good to see too ( latterly in 2021 they were not taking off 2020 ITF tournament points at all and were reducing 2019 ITF tournament points by 50% ).
The question remains when are they going to remove the 50% 2019 ITF tournament points that are still on players reccords from initially being added later on in 2019. Will that maybe be in April which I gather would tie in with ITF ranking points adjustments being done then or do we have to wait until theiir 2022 anniversary as well? It's rather anomalous to be taking off 2021 points while many 50% 2019 points remain.
At least by the end of this year it appears the WTA rankings will be back to being based on just the previous 12 months.
I thought the 2019 points (halved) start to drop after Miami - but who knows? The WTA seem to be making it up as they go along. Maybe Boris can get a job there.

I believe the first time anniversary-wise we are due to hit 2019 halved ITF tournament points is at the post Indian Wells 21/03/19 rankings. No later anyway.
Certainly there are players still with points added post Indian Wells 18/03/19 still in their counting points. eg.
Lots of upward movement throughout the rankings this week with plenty of career highs. There are lots of small differences throughout between the official rankings and live ranking sites, which I'm not going to work out why for all of them.
Emma moves up to a career high of 13 as she adds her first AO points and others slip away. This is a place higher than live ranking sites who were not dropping the WTA250 Phillips Island in the 2nd week of the AO last year and which was not on WTA's list of points to be dropped this week. Heather climbs 7 to 87 even though she is unchanged on points. Katie B retakes GB#4 as a result of Fran dropping the points from Phillips Island. Eliz climbs 310 places to a new career high of 678 as a result of being Bath finalist. Others to benefit from Bath are Beth up 10 to a NCH 307, Eden up 17 to 444, Freya up 75 to 598, Jasmine up 97 to 1031, Amelia B up 253 to 1215 and Holly up 57 to 1435.
GB Top 10 13 (+5) Emma Raducanu *New CH* 87 (+7) Heather Watson 132 (-9) Harriet Dart 153 (+2) Katie Boulter 155 (-5) Fran Jones 209 (+7) Jodie Burrage *New CH* 219 (+26) Katie Swan 280 (+5) Sam Murray Sharan 307 (+10) Beth Grey *New CH* 324 (-1) Naiktha Bains
Unranked With Bath points added Lauryn John-Baptiste, Eva Shaw and Danielle Daley move to requiring 1 more counter for a WTA ranking Emma Wilson and Ella Mcdonald get their first counter and would get a WTA ranking with a main draw win.
No GB women are dropping points included in their ranking next week. Next week points appear to be dropping from the WTA250 in Adelaide last year that took place at the end of February.
Thanks Lambda. Yes lots of big movements rankings are a little volatile just now as things sort themselves out from 19/20/21 at various points. Good to see lots of movements in the right direction!
And just to add to the posts, here's the status of the GB Top25 now that Jan is done. So biggest mover in the GB rankings, and standing out a mile, was Eliz Maloney up 7 places to GB#20. Runner up was Freya Christie, up 2 to GB#17. No-one dropped more than 1 place.
The only main movers with Loughborough points added are Eliz and Sonay with new career highs. A single win in Brazil was enough to move Matilda up to a new career high and Jodie improves her career high by 1 place because of points dropped by others.
