So, let me get this right. Between August 2022 and December 2022 mid ranked players will be trying to defend in any given week 50% of points from 2019, 100% of points from 2020 and 100% of increased points from 2021. A 25K player could lose up to 140 points but only be able to add 50 points. If that's right they haven't thought this through.
This could make the limited number of 25ks even more popular. As AV says, winning it is now worth more than a WTA250 quarter final, which players in the 130-300 range are unlikely to achieve all that often.

It seems to me that players outside the top 30 or so will be aiming to play in lots of 25k events as possible to boost their rankings, as they may make more ranking points in the small tournaments than the big ones, as others have pointed out.
This transition looks farcical, and a serious disincentive for lots of players ranked from say 30 to 200 to play in the bigger tournaments, as far as ranking is concerned, though the pull of bigger prize money may be an incentive in itself. I have a feeling that this new system will lead to lots of players who deserve to be in the top 100 disappearing out of it, and lots of lesser players winning or reaching finals in minor events and undeservedly sneaking into the top 100. That cannot be right.

In relation to this I copy what I posted in the Oeiras 60K thread :
"Em will now have a full set of 16 singles counters ( she has 43 doubles! ). Now 17 of the GB top 20 will have a full set, two will have 14 counters and Emma has 9. Elsewhere I have seen 48 counters in both singles and doubles.
Going to be 'fun' for everyone when all these additional counters more than a year old start fully dropping off."
Big movements in post RG rankings. Jo falls 10 places as 2019 RG SF points come off, Fran drops 7 places as points from a 2019 W25 win in Minsk are halved. Katie B climbs to GB #5 with her excellent run in Nottingham. Sam, Jodie and Katie S fall as 2019 ITF points are halved. Tara, Eden, Beth, Alice and Eliz all have big upward moves
Hopefully these are of interest.....a simple top 25 graph showing how things have changed over the year so far, and the corresponding points for each player. The points graph is a bit messy, but the top 25 shows, as Redsquirrel mentioned, what a good year Katie Boulter is having (at least in comparison to everyone else). A
I have almost finished the updates to the women's predictions competition based on today's rankings, and there are some big changes in scores reflecting the movements in the graphs you have posted.

Looking forward to the updated lists - must be a huge amount of work for you.
Does anybody know what's happening with Gabriela Taylor?
