RE: Week 7 - ITF ($50K) - Kreuzlingen, Switzerland Carpet

That must be her first 3 set win in ages. Good to see her close out a tough one.

Hopefully this is finally the kick start she needed.

At least in a 50K Tara gets 5 ranking points for qualifying, thus already doubling her points tally for the year to date.

Would be so good to see Tara get her mojo back. That was a decent win to eke out today.

Not the nicest draw but as indiana says, 5 points in the bag for qualifying:

L32: (Q) Tara Moore WR 360 v (6) Kristyna Pliskova (CZE) WR 137 (CH 86 in 2013)

H2H 1-3 - Pliskova won in juniors in 2010 & in ITFs in 2012/13, all in straight sets, while Tara won their first senior meeting in Helsinki in 2010 with a bagel in the 3rd

Freya Christie ran Pliskova close in Glasgow I thought Pliskova was nothing startling if Tara has her mojo back she could cause a surprise

I think Pliskova just served 3 aces in a row from set point down at 5-4*

Tara goes out 7-5 6-3

But it's a fair bit better, this tournament, than anything else she's posted recently . . .

Pretty decent effort actually against someone whose game is made for carpet. Really only had one service game where she had an opportunity, but sadly that was chances to take the first set!

Much improved week for her though. Nice to have positives.

Don't know if this was connected with the 'split thumb' tweet that I re-posted yesterday but it doesn't look perfect !

Hope it clears up nice and quickly.
