There is the break back 4-4.
I've no confidence that Josh can hold his next two serves though.

Me neither.

And yet he goes one step better and holds AND breaks !

Very nice win, Josh. Hopefully, it'll set the ball rolling for the GB contingent. AND guarantee something for Bob to see tomorrow smile

Bob was hoping to get there to see some play today. Let's hope he caught some of Josh's match.

I know he'd beaten Jankovits in 3 sets before (2011) but that's an excellent win for Josh He'll need to beat top Q seed Melzer or alternate Pavic (who's a set up) to get any points but at least he's got some cash for his efforts already.

QR1: Josh Milton WR 368 beat Yannick Jankovits (FRA) WR 328 (= CH) by 6-3 4-6 6-4

I wouldn't have thought so.

Didn't he say it took 10 hours and he'd be leaving at 6 or 7 in the morning?

He'll definitely get some of the later matches though, and probably all of a couple of them. Very considerate, though, of Josh to have won and guaranteed some Bob interest for tomorrow.

You underestimate his madness wink - he had already nearly made it to Barcelona by 1 am CET and was at the last motorway services before the border just after 6 am, after a couple of hours of sleep (in the car, presumably) between 3 and 5!

I despair !!!!

And stand 100% corrected.

And vow to NEVER underestimate the total tennis devotion (and ability to operate without sleep) of Our Bob ever again smile

What, with Marcus being 7th on court and Dan S 8th and last ( Alex is 4th ), Bob only needs now to hang around for not too much more than another 10 hours to watch them. A dawdle :)

Pavic completed the upset against former world no. 8 Melzer, so:

QR2: Josh Milton WR 368 v (Alt) Mate Pavic (CRO) WR 435 (CH 295 in 2013)
