Looks like we have a cohort of 4 for this and next week's $25k in Aurangabad with Katy and Em just sneaking into the MD here already smile

 

MD: #17 Katy Dunne; #18 Emily Webley-Smith

Qualies: #8 Harriet Dart; #11 Naomi Cavaday

Naomi is top seed and Harriet second seed in the qualies. Both get a bye in the first round. Naomi to play Shweta Rana WR 789 (CH 527) in Q round two.

Em gets Sawayagi which when you consider the head to head is a disaster.

Katy draws a qualifier in by far the weakest section of the draw.

Qualifier spots shouldn't pose Naomi any difficulty other than Zhang (i actually think she could beat Linette). Lets just hope she avoids Katy!

Do we know if for some reason Sawayanagi is a particularly bad match-up for Emily? Or has it maybe been more just bad days for Emily and good days for her opponent and not necessarily so disastrous a draw?

4 games total in 4 sets looks like she has a hex on Em; but here's hoping Em's considerable experience of Indian conditions holds her in good stead for this one and the record can be straightened smile
