Week 3 - Tunisia F2 ($10,000) - El Kantaoui (Hard)

L32: Toby Martin WR 738 v (Q) Phillip Gresk (POL) WR 1685 (CH 1665 last month; 18yo junior CH 84 last Feb)

Quite an inviting draw unless this ex-top 100 junior proves to be a banana skin - Toby is in the 8th seed's section, the 4th seed's quarter and the 2nd seed's half, i.e. the lowest seed possible in each case.

Good to see Toby back on the winning trail. Lets hope he can put some back to back wins together.

Nice lad with plenty of ability and definite top 500 when everything clicks.

It clearly doesn't click very often for Toby.

But good if it does, all the best to him.

I would say he's a neat, balanced player, with good attitude (and as such could obviously move up reasonably significantly) but I don't think he has all that much natural ability (in terms of timing, feel, explosiveness etc.). But I like the guy and wish him well .... he deserves to at least get past the second round a bit more than he managed last year !!!!!

Not a seed, SC. It is a bummer that Brits ever have to play seeds :)

As Steven said that's the lowest seed that Toby could have had in his section.

Toby just tweeted me this about his own performance after I suggested that todays hard fought win was good for blowing a few early season cobwebs away.

Yeh. It was pretty rusty and he gave zero rhythm so in that respect it wasn't too easy. Happy and looking forward to rnd 2

Would love to see Toby go further. He is definitely one of the "good-guys" on the circuit.

Toby takes the first set 6-3, but looks like an interruption or the scoreboard frozen
