The main draw is out and there are no easy openers for our girls.

Eden gets the top seed, Dasha gets the third seed and Jazz gets the fourth seed with tough draws for Fran and Charlotte.

Not sure how in a field so weak we managed that luck!

Yes, if you thought last week's main draw here was rough on the Brits, you ain't seen nothing yet ... this week, they get 3 of the top 4 seeds and a former top 300 player, while Charlotte gets a player who thrashed her at the same stage last week ... and Charlotte and Fran are in the top seed's quarter too

L32: Eden Silva WR 691 v (1) Barbara Haas (AUT) WR 306 (CH 286 in Dec) *
L32: (Q) Charlotte Pearce WR 1209 v Ksenia Gaydarzhi (RUS) WR 776 (CH 772 last week) #
L32: Francesca Stephenson WR 632 v Shiho Akita (JPN) WR 715 (CH 255 in 2011)
L32: Danielle Konotoptseva WR 831 v (3) Aleksandrina Naydenova (BUL) WR 346 (CH 264 in 2013)
L32: (Q) Jazzamay Drew WR 937 v (4) Pia König (AUT) WR 379 (CH 378 last week)

* H2H 0-1 - Haas won 2 & 2 at Wimbledon juniors in 2012
# H2H 0-1 - Gaydarzhi won 3 & 1 in R1 last week

Five British girls, in five separate doubles pairs, played today. And only one came through (in a Brit+/Brit+ match). Dasha gets the sole win today . . .

Luck of the draw !!!!

Despite rantings above about the draw, the top seed dropped out, leaving our Eden to face a lucky loser. And she made the most of it ::))

L32: Eden Silva WR 691 def. (LL) Arantxa Anrady (IND) WR 1015 CH 912 a few weeks ago 6-1 6-1

She now plays the winner of CHarlotte's match, which looks - cross fingers - that it will be Charlotte - currently leading 6-2 4-1

SO that'd be a British QF spot guaranteed . . .

Fran into a first set TB

L32: (Q) Charlotte Pearce WR 1209 def. Ksenia Gaydarzhi (RUS) WR 776 (CH 772 last week) 6-2 6-1

and Fran gets the first set TB against the ex-top 300 player, 7-6(4)

If I'm reading it right, looks like Fran won 7-6(4) 1-5 retired.

ITF livescores shows Fran retiring at 1-5 down in the 2nd set having won the 1st While still hoping that's the wrong way round, I doubt it is. Nice how the top of the draw opened up for Eden and Charlotte though, and that's quite a turnaround for the latter after losing 3 & 1 to the same opponent at the same stage last week!

L32: Eden Silva WR 691 beat (LL) Arantxa Andrady (IND) WR 1015 (CH 912 last month) by 1 & 1 :
L32: (Q) Charlotte Pearce WR 1209 beat Ksenia Gaydarzhi (RUS) WR 776 (CH 772 last week) by 2 & 1
L32: Francesca Stephenson WR 632 lost to Shiho Akita (JPN) WR 715 (CH 255 in 2011), who won 6-7(4) 5-1 ret.
L32: Danielle Konotoptseva WR 831 lost to (3) Aleksandrina Naydenova (BUL) WR 346 (CH 264 in 2013) by 1 & 3
L32: (Q) Jazzamay Drew WR 937 lost to (4) Pia König (AUT) WR 379 (CH 378 last week) by 3 & 0

L16: Eden Silva WR 691 v (Q) Charlotte Pearce WR 1209
