For me, the winner of Jo's match comes through that section so it's got the feel of an all-or-nothing.
Even in good form Naomi would struggle here, so I can't see this ending in a win, but would absolutely love her to prove me wrong. Ursula looked very good in Auckland.
It's in Jo's hands - she's certainly good enough. Ana struggled to beat anyone top 100 in 2014 and we know Jo has enough quality. If she can engage the brain and serve well, she should come through here.
Oops....obviously got that totally wrong! Did he ever do anything with Urszula after he left Sloane S? Otherwise can't think why I connected the 2 together in my mind....

yes, I think he was 'definitely' with Urszula after Sloane as of autumn 2014 - I remember seeing it too.
Hitting partner for Caro since December I believe.
Tough draws especially Naomi, Urszula won 5 matches last week in Auckland beating some quality players along the way. Tatishvilli also qualified in Auckland so will provide another stern test, probably 50/50.
Even if players don't qualify, the generous 20 ranking points win QR1 / 30 win QR2 even before the 40 for qualifying is not to be sniffed at even if down from the 40 / 50 / 60 progression that applied until 2013.
So it would be more appreciated than normal to have a 'nice' QR1 draw with a better chance of these initial points even if overall qualifying looks more neutral.
