Yet another new partner for Sean, but at least he's persevering at Challenger level:

R1:  Mohamed Safwat (EGY) & Sean Thornley CR 462 (289+173) vs Mirza Basic & Dino Marcan (BIH/CRO) CR 847 (606+241)

On paper, at least, they would appear to be in with a chance of making the quarters, where they would almost certainly face the Italian fourth seeds, Cipolla & Motti.

Should've kept my big mouth shut & not wasted my time printing off a draw sheet!

R1:  Mirza Basic & Dino Marcan (BIH/CRO) CR 847 (606+241) defeated Mohamed Safwat (EGY) & Sean Thornley CR 462 (289+173) by 4 & 1  bleh  disbelief
