A really good test for Farris, Eriksson was ranked 900 plus at 20, it will be interesting to see if Farris pushes him close in the first set then fades, the impression I got from the online reviews by his coaches at Illinois is that paying attention to looking after his body has been a significant factor in his year on year improvement against other college athletes.

Farris did serve for the match at 5-4 up, but got broken and is now serving to force a final set TB.

Looks as if Farris has started the year at a decent level, just not quite decent enough on the day.

Hopefully, he can make the top 500 soon.

What's his current college situation ? Time out or what ?

Definitely not Farris' day:

Far be it from me to wish ill on any player, but I hope it wasn't an injury to Farris that caused the retirement,

Pretty impressed with Faris's crack at Eriksson obviously pushed him very close, looks like he lasted the course but couldn't quite finish him off. Hopefully he will be able to take stock and go again next week, it should be exciting watching his progress this year.
