Tipsarevic has pulled out of ATP Chennai after being awarded a WC and is reportedly not back on the tour until Feb 2015 which means Ward will definitely drop to 3rd Alt shortly.

Expecting him to get into MD.

Waiting for Marin Cillic to withdraw - he has pulled out of Brisbane with a shoulder injury.

W/Ds so far:

- Sock
- Haase
- Stepanek
- Tipsarevic

Ward now 2nd ALT. Feeling confident that he will make his first slam draw by right!

Not quite confident yet. It looks possible that Cilic will withdraw but I'm still waiting for a Tsonga or an Istomin to show signs of a withdrawal before believing. I suppose, however, that intense training periods may well prove the downfall of some players.

Stu has found a Czech article saying that Rosol is going to withdraw in order to stay with his pregnant girlfriend. If that and all the other withdrawals are confirmed, James will need just one more withdrawal to make it in

I imagine there will now be a long silence over Christmas and the new year to keep us on tenterhooks ...

Possibly Rosol shortly.

Ah ok - that explains the discrepancy. I think Florian never originally entered; unfortunately James doesn't benefit in terms of his Alt placing.
