3 out of the four seeds fell.
Katie's side of the draw is looking much easier to come through, although Oyen might be an awkward obstacle

A bit of a shock (and not a good one) as Katie loses from a set up All three GB R1 matches were won by the lower-ranked player:

L32: (Q) Francesca Stephenson WR 805 beat (7) Alice Balducci (ITA) WR 471 (CH 361 in May) by 6-4 4-6 6-3
L32: (Q) Jessica Simpson WR 1122 lost to (LL) Eva Raskiewicz (USA) UNR (CH 1011 in 2013) by 7-5 7-6(4)
L32: (4) Katie Boulter WR 363 lost to Sofie Oyen (BEL) WR 722 (CH 403 in 2010) by 6-7(4) 6-4 6-4

2 close sets but very disappointing given that Fran as *4-3 up in the 1st set and served for the 2nd
