Loses 62 63

Unfortunate draw in a weak field but these things happen. Never mind it's been a good few weeks, her first first round exit in a good while.

Home time.

Oh, that's a sad result to wake up to.

She is still in doubles though I presume.

This was odds on always likely to happen.

But so good that when she did beat her, last week, it was for a big points /cheque pick-up, as opposed to a R1 match that, in itself i.e. unless you then go on through the rounds, doesn't bring a huge deal.

Tara's now playing, all on serve, would be SO nice if, for once in a long while, Tara could produce some good, consistent tennis.

Agree CD. Given how she was playing I was hoping for one big last points haul to end the year (QF was very possible for her here), but I couldn't see any realistic prospect of lightning striking twice when the draw was made. But she's had a few friendly draws of late so you can't complain too much. It's unbelievable we all feel a bit disappointed about a straight sets loss to a player just outside the top 100, says a lot about how impressive she has been. Not sure if that's her done for the year or if she will head back to India in the run up to Christmas, she's got some points to defend from Egypt but should start 2015 around 320, which is a nice place to be. I have a feeling next year might be her last year on tour, with her eyes firmly on trying to get in contention for a Wimbledon wildcard and a slot at US Open qualies, which has always been a goal of hers, having been unable to play the one time she would have made the cut many years ago due to injury.

Tara *5-3 - missed a couple of set points in this game so far.

Mayr aside, this event is so, so weak, and a few seeds have already bitten the dust. Tara's quarter is wide open with the withdrawal of Celik and if she wasn't in such bad form I'd be expecting her to make the final.

Oh, and the stream is now working, so if Tara does continue in this event we might get to see her at some point.

Tara is 6-3 *4-1 up. Must be playing half decent, only 4 DF's which isn't bad for her and hasn't faced a BP next.

That's a very good win for Tara especially by recent standards. She gets an even tougher junior in R2 though:

L32: Emily Webley-Smith WR 332 lost to (1) Patricia Mayr-Achleitner (AUT) WR 115 (CH 70 in 2009) by 2 & 3
L32: Tara Moore WR 313 beat Hsu Ching-Wen (TPE) WR 433 (CH 430 last week; 18yo junior CH 6 last year) by 3 & 3

L16: Tara Moore WR 313 v Ivana Jorovic (SRB) WR 502 (CH 449 last week; 17yo junior WR 15 /CH 1 in Jun)

Emily was kind enough to reply to my tweet, she's staying in India for two weeks to rest, train and work with her physio who is based there, then as expected hitting the last run of ITFs starting with the 15k on grass which, depending on how strong the field is, could be a great event for her.

Assuming the finances are Ok, I'll be absoulutely shocked if Em hangs up her boots next year, she lives and breathes the tennis circuit, so I fancy we''ll have the pleasure of following her for many years to come.

Jorovic used to be coached by Cav at Northwood and is a quality player, but I was surprised to see her CH junior ranking. Her best results as a junior were on clay, and outside of Paris didn't have a particularly great GS record, so that ranking maybe is a bit misleading. Anyways it'll still be a tough test but not unsurpassable.

Tara is 2nd on court on Wednesday so for all the "Larks" amongst us is likely to be starting around 6am UK time.
