RE: Week 44 - ITF ($10K) - Pereira, Colombia Clay

Anna is based at Bolettieris in Florida so South America isn't venturing that far...

Quote from Anna last year:

Anna, 15, from Newlands, Glasgow, said: I dont have time for boys or buying clothes. Im far too busy concentrating on my goal to play in the French Open this year.

Its not that I dislike things like fashion. I just want to do the best I can, to be the best I can.

I want to be Wimbledon champion and, to do that, you have to put in the hours.

I spend at least four hours a day on court and another hour training, with at least 100 squats and lunges to keep my legs strong and supple."

You've got to love her . . .

There is a bit of competition now to get on Steven's top 25 table. I think Laura Robson may well get removed soon.

That might also appeal to Korriban

The quote you posted CD maybe doesn't make Anna sound like she's much fun, but she's a very pleasant girl and popular with other players.

Anna has been three times a break down; each time has pulled it back though, *5-5

Anna edges a really close battle of a first set, in the TB, 7-6(3)

More consistent pressure coming form Anna now, and it's allowed her to take control of Set 2, 7-6(3) *4-1

A much different match to the steamrolling Anna dished out last week, but the same result. Sets up another shot at a now familiar foe.
L16: (Q) Anna BROGAN (GBR) UNR defeated María Fernanda HERAZO GONZÁLEZ (COL) [8] 661 7-6(3) 6-1

QF: (Q) Anna BROGAN (GBR) UNR vs. Andrea KOCH-BENVENUTO (CHI) [1] 314 (CH 224 06/2012)
H2H: 0-2 Both on the recent South American clay $10K swing.
In Pereira last week, AK-B won 2 & 4 in the QF, en route to the title.
In Quito, at the end of August, AK-B won 7-6(4) 6-4 in the SF

Good stuff :)

And with Anna being now up to 10 ranking points, we should have another junior into the top 25 table on Monday week.
