James is a set down.

In my opinion, James has just had a big slice of good fortune to go a break up in the second, ball called out when it looked to have hit the line - would've been a winner...

*4-2

Big hold from 0-30 from Wardy to take the second 6-3

Could definitely go either way this although I'd have James as SLIGHT favourite now.

James now a break up in the 3rd. would be great if he could pull this one out the bag despite probably being 2nd best thus far

He's been the better player since that stroke of luck in the second to be fair. Should be ok now.

Very poor service games as he serves for it, 3 UEs 5-5.   This is a tight match now.

Come on James, put that game behind you and make it to the tie break

From 5-2 up in the breaker, Dino loses 5 consecutive points. Not pretty.  A missed opportunity

Shame but I thought James played well.

But so did Petzschner.

The two killer serves that the German put in at 2-5 down were key, and then he went for percentage tennis.

Disappointing not to finish if off. Draws like that in an ATP event don't come along too often.

Ah pity, it was a good draw and James clearly got in good positions.

But it does seem to have been a pretty good match, with James continuing to play to a pretty consistent standard as he has in recent months.

Onward...
