I didn't see that score coming in the tiebreak. Well done to Liam, that's quite a fightback from *0-4 down in the 3rd!

SF: (6) Liam Broady WR 307 beat (1) Dan Cox WR 271 by 6-3 3-6 7-6(0)
SF: (5) Ed Corrie WR 277 beat (8) Josh Milton WR 405 by 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4

FINAL: (5) Ed Corrie WR 277 v (6) Liam Broady WR 307

2 very competitive matches and hopefully high quality to.
Liam/Dan a bit of a rollercoaster to say the least, but Liam finding something to comeback as strongly as that is pretty special.
And Ed edging a tough battle with Josh.

Should be a cracking final.

So pleased for Liam especially, had a lot of stick but he's coming out and proving them wrong. That challenger swing might be planned at just the right time!

Liam will break into the top 300 if he wins tomorrow. Ed is already virtually certain of a new career high around 270 but will move up to around 260 if he wins.

Very good to see Liam doing so well and that's a cracking comeback in the final set.

When Jaffa mentions him supposedly getting a "lot of stick", there was certainly some discussion about his results and apparent performances during the first half of his long North American foray. I was one who though then and still think they were not very impressive, and certainly not as impressive as had been made out. No apologies for saying so. But it has certainly been the lead in to rather more impressive form.

It is great that his form has picked up so, rounding off with that Canadian 15K title, and has continued here. He's looking on a very good track for now.

Don't read too much into the blip in North American, these could have been explained by some personal issues Liam experienced whilst over there.

Of course there could, paulisi, and indeed Liam may have even been experimenting a bit at the start of a long run of tournaments.

But some of us were merely attempting a little objective discussion about Liam's tennis, generally in response to other points.

If it is these discussions about North America that have invoked the comments about a "lot of stick" and in some way we were "wrong" to venture such opinions, it is frankly in my view the stuff of nonsense.

At least, Liam seems to be playing well now, so we can unite in being pleased to see that.
