Despite a little blip at the end, Richard comes through no problem . .

Pleased to see Richard win. He needs a good run as most of his big points scores are coming off in the next two months. He has 40 points to defend before the end of October, but then nothing after that until Feb of next year.

Can't have another one slipping outside the Top 500.

QF:  Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul & Kittiphong Wachiramanowong (THA/THA) CR 1884 (946+938) vs (3) Scott Clayton & Richard Gabb CR 1129 (685+444)

A match featuring the two Thais must be every umpire's worst nightmare!     "Trong" & "Wachi"...? wink

QF:  (5) Peter Heller (GER) WR 503 (CH = 430 in May last year) vs (3) Richard Gabb WR 489

That looks pretty close...

My thoughts are that Gabb moved up to challengers level too quickly and has suffered a bit with his ranking. He seems a good futures player, but if I was managing him I would focus on 10K & 15K's get back towards the top 350 and then throw in the occasional challenger. Liam Broady seems to have managed his schedule like this.

H2H 1-1 - both on clay - Richard won 3 & 3 in juniors (Trofeo Bonfiglio) in 2010 but Heller thrashed him 0 & 2 in Izmir in 2012

Gabb served for the set at 5*-4, but got broken and it's now 5*-6

And pretty close it is . . .

Heller's just got the second set, 6-3.

So into a third . .
