Pleased for Scott. Must have helped that his opponent served 17 DFs,

A very good win for Liam against last week's Calgary champ and a nice-looking R2 draw too!

That's a big win for Liam, even if his opponent may have been a little tired. Nguyen was the bookies favourite and when Liam lost his break in the 1st it could have got ugly, but he was able to rally and then went onto win the 2nd easily. Liam's had a very consistent run in these tournaments without being at his very best, but encouraging going forward that he can eke out the points without being in top form. Lots more to come from the Stockport lad.

Josh's match doesn't seem to be on livescores - hope he's OK and it's being played.

Luke has won the first 7 points, including the first 4 on the other guy's serve . . .

edit: make that the first 10 points :)

And, yes, well done to Liam - good result.

I'd actually say that Liam's been a bit inconsistent with 3 of his 8 North American futures being first round defeats, and overall a bit of a mixture even with two RUs and two SFs. I am sure he hoped for more.

That though does look a decent result, so well done to him and hope he can have a very good finale.

Maybe a bit too long a trip, and to me it would have been much more appropriate and motivating for him and Luke ( who maybe even more could do with a good week ) to have spent the earlier Weeks on grass back home.

Luke takes the first set 6-0.

Agree that it seems a very long trip. Not sure I quite see the sense - can't have been cheap either.

NB Is is David Sammel who's with them now ? And Mark Hilton before?

Really good win for Liam. Luke in a hurry too. Bagel in the 1st set and already a break up in the 2nd. 6-0 *1-0 His opponent has only won 8 points so far.

It's still on livescores when I look and it was scheduled for not before 23.15 BST so hopefully the scores will start ticking over soon.
