Just seem loads of GB futures that are good for a lot of guys ( although could do with more challengers ! ) and so few women's 10K / 15Ks, which many girls would appreciate. Seems a bit of a lack of joined up thinking.
It's quite easy in hindsight to criticise the LTA schedule, but I suspect they have to plan 12 months in advance.
So at that time, Joko, Hev, Naomi, Tara, Sam and Jade plus EWS were all playing and winning matches at that level. Joko, Hev and Naomi has all moved to higher tournaments. Sam and Jade have been injured and Tara out of form and an operation. EWS travels the world.
So you virtually have to predict who will need the tournaments and when. If you look for Jan onwards:
Heather - main tour
Joko - 50k+
Naomi - 50k+
Laura - assuming fitness will play main tour on provisional ranking
Tara - 25k
Sam -ranking will drop assuming surgery goes well, so start at 10k and move up to 25k
Katy - 25k and potentially higher subject to high quickly
EWS - 25k, but will prefer to travel
Amanda - clay court specialist
Katie - 25k and potentially higher subject to high quickly
Anna - now doubles specialist seemingly
Jade -ranking dropping due to injury, 10k
Eleanor - 25k, but based overseas
All the rest of the girls(plenty of them) are going to be playing 10/15k
So logically the LTA will start with 10 & 15k's and throw in the odd 25k to help out Tara, Katy, Katie, Sam and Jade later in the year.
For the men, it's slightly more difficult to predict. 10k's generally tend to be in four week runs, challengers and 15k's can be stand alone.
J Ward - may push close to top 100 and be playing tour and high level challengers
Evo - needs domestic challengers, assuming he avoids an op on his knee
Kyle - initially will need challengers, but could easily progress to main tour
Dan C & Dan S - should need a mix of 15k and challengers
Rice/Corrie/A Ward/Broady/Willis/Golding/Klein and Milton - all potential to push into challengers, but won't make main draw yet
The rest are all 10/15k players
So do you put extra challengers on for potentially Evo, Kyle and the two Dans with 8 or 9 having potential to qualify and win the odd round with a wildcard or put the odd one on and move all 10k's to 15k's?
Nice summary, I think Laura will use a combination of ITF's and tour events on return.
I'll guess we'll see a couple of male challengers next year, outside chance of the Newcastle 10k being one of them next year.
I see Naomi Cavaday is still on the entry list for Barnstaple and seems to have withdrawn from her other multiple entries. Tara should make main draw automatically. Katy will be close, but will probably get a wildcard anyway. All other GB players will have to play qualifiers unless they get a wildcard. Multiple withdrawals to be completed later this afternoon.
Harriet, Katy and Naomi are prime candidates for main draw wildcards.
Katy won't need that wildcard - there were an awful lot of withdrawals and she has made main draw comfortably. Qualifying looks quite weak such that quite a few of our girls will be close to a qualifying seeding
The men's at Cumberland has seen a host of foreigners drop out, such that 13 of the 18 direct acceptances are GB players. Marzi and JWH will get in unless there are SE's, plus 4 wildcards(Josh Sapwell may well get one, Andy Bettles?) and most of the qualifying spots are held by GB players so should be mid 20's in the main draw.
Table now updated - still waiting to see which venue Mr Goseas & Jhun select.
Plenty of potential seeds(Canada, France, GB, Mexico, Croatia) so could be a busy week.

Goodness, the inappropriately named Cumberland is a truly British affair ! (and, yes, I know it's the name of the club but if people just see Cumberland they're, quite reasonably, not going to realise it's in NW6 - poor marketing, IMHO)
All Brits or quasi-Brits - a few Irishmen, Freddie Nielsen, a London uni foreign student . .
NB and the Swede who was found guilty of a tennis corruption offense :::((( - contravening Article D.1.d of the Uniform Tennis Anti-Corruption Program - No Covered Person shall, directly or indirectly, contrive or attempt to contrive the outcome or any other aspect of any Event.
An issue though on the top 500 front is that Richard and Ashley are currently heading in the other direction. We could soon ( hopefully for a short period ) just have 14 in the top 500, albeit a very clear top 14, well within it. Though, also one of these is Oli.
Guaranteed minimum ranking points at 15/09/14 ( when the London Cumberland points are added ) :
11. Alex W 121 points
12. Marcus W 113
13. Oli G 103
14. Josh M 99
15. Richard G 68
16. Luke B 67
17. Ashley H 64
18. Neil P 60
19. George C 49
Now, it would require George to win the title, Neil to be losing finalist and Luke to be a losing SF for any of them likely to be in the top 500 post Cumberland ( I don't think I am being particularly doomladen to suggest that all three is a tad unlikely. Realistically, more than one of these is fairly unlikely. Ashley would also need at least a SF run in his Canada 15K.
