If so, then Scott should have a decent chance against Toby. Not really that bad a draw competitively, though we'd maybe prefer the Brits not to be meeting.
I can't say that I have though picked up any real impression that Scott is much better than his ranking.
Not maybe the draw Liam was looking for, especially as he looks to make the USA trip more rewarding. But it will be interesting to see how the rematch goes.
Can't wait, great opportunity for Liam, great test of his mental strength after a good week last week. I would take a different view exactly the draw a true competitor should be craving. Go Liam as they say in Illinois.

I have seen Scott play quite a few times over the past year. I think he his is potentially a lot better than his ranking which is very different to saying that he is better than his ranking.
L32: (1) Liam Broady WR 376 v Mitchell Frank (USA) WR 834 (CH 622 in 2012)
L32: (4) Luke Bambridge WR 567 v Tommy Mylnikov (CAN) WR 1275 (CH 1242 in Jun)
L32: Toby Martin WR 749 v Scott Clayton WR 1167
(just a small ranking / order correction otherwise I'd have stuck with just adding the H2Hs!)
Liam v Frank H2H: 0-1 - a rematch of last week's Final, which the American won 2 & 1
Toby v Scott H2H: 1-0 - Toby won 3 & 2 in Herzlia last year

Not very nice for Mr Broady, Mr Clayton, and Mr Martin. Is Mr Bambridge's opponent another banana skin, does anyone know? Certainly a tip of the chapeau (as per Zootennis) to Mr Bambridge's potential 2nd round opponent, Blake Strode, who, Zootennis points out, is not a university student playing on his summer holidays, but a graduate (law) student playing on his summer holidays. Came through as a LL after 2 victories in qualies. Wouldn't expect him to pose much of a threat to Mr Bambridge, but it's rather an impressive result to make the MD (even as a LL) given that he must be quite rusty!
Yeah. Worried I might have jinxed him there. He was 4-0 up and then went back to 4-4. Pleased to see he has now broken again and will serve for the match.
