interesting that Jade has gone over just for the doubles...

She could have been entered for the singles and took a chance at sign-in but missed the cut-off, which was higher than usual at #248. If that was the case, then getting into the double should re-coup some of her expenses.

Given their dominance in ITFs it's good to see Joss and Anna try some WTA tournaments together. Looks like a winnable first match too.

But she still missed by about 140 places so I just assumed she gone for the doubles. Either way, good luck to her.

Pretty disappointing morning in Sweden so far

Jade and Mona down 16 *21

Anna and Joss saved set points at *35, then missed two break points to drop the set 46

Bua and Seguel are the sort of pair Joss and Anna will want to be beating as they start off in WTA International's to get their rankings up into the top 100, certainly a winnable draw at this level although a tougher ask on clay (on a faster surface I'd have made the Brits pretty comfortable favourites). Hopefully they can find a way back into this.

Jade double faults the break away so her match is back on serve.

Anna and Joss miss another 2 break points at the start of the second set

*1-1

Jade/Mona 3-3* second set

Jade/Mona broke for *4-3 but Jade threw in a couple more doubles to hand the break back, and after missing two break points at 4-4*, Mona double faults on match point and they lose 61 64

Joss and Anna miss their 6th break point of the match, and then need to save two break points of their own to keep their noses in front in the second set 3-2*

The Brits re-group and save 2 match points to break at their 9th opportunity

Well done to Joss and Anna and nice to get 60 ranking points from one match :)

One more win and it would be up to a total of 120 points, beating their previous standout score, 115 points from their 75K title last month.
