QR1: Dan Cox WR 222 v Amir Weintraub (ISR) WR 190 (CH 161 in 2012)

Seeded in this section: (q1) Paolo Lorenzi (ITA) & (q25) Maximo González (ARG)

QR1: James Ward WR 169 v Radu Albot (MDA) WR 216 (CH 160 in Jan)

Seeded in this section: (q21) Ryan Harrison (USA) & (q4) Blaz Rola (SLO)

QR1: (q22) Dan Evans WR 130 v Gastão Elias (POR) WR 181 (CH 103 last May)

Also seeded in this section: (q12) Andrey Kuznetsov (RUS)


Edit: to add the names of the seeds in each section. The draws don't look too nice, yet they have all avoided seeds in QR1 (and Evo has avoided the very top seeds' sections) - we probably just have to accept that there are virtually no easy draws in slam qualifying, especially not if it's Roland Garros and you're a Brit. Pity Dan didn't quite make it - he must be top alternate, so if he has made the trip, you never know!

Not brilliant! Wardy has a good chance of qualifying though.

Why is Ward's draw bad? Looks pretty good to me. Rola has played a lot of clay court matches but hasn't beaten anyone much better than James.

As Steven suggests, I really don't think the draw overall is as bad as is being made out.

It certainly doesn't look particularly favourable, but you'll probably have difficulty constructing a draw that some wouldn't see as tough. It's Slam qualifying.

The first matches of the day have started, but the live score isn't up and running yet (or is it just me?)

Dan and Dino are both 2nd matched after 10.00 local.  Are there any streams?  Not that Dan is likely to be telivised.....Dan is short of match practice, I'm wondering what kind of performace to expect.
