L32: Heather Watson WR 112 v (2) Klára Koukalová (CZE) WR 31 (CH 20 in 2013)
Not a great R1 draw for either of them, I'd say. I was surprised to see Klara listed under her maiden name - turns out she got divorced in January and reverted back from Zakopalová to Koukalová last month.

Great scalp for Hev, and looking like she's picked up a level from last week.
I always though am wary about formlines in 100k's when higher ranked players who normally just play WTA events drop down a level. Not sure their intensity is quite what it would be normally. Safarova the number 1 seed was beaten yesterday by a complete no hoper is another good example.
A pretty decent week already when we have the 5 fit members of the GB top 6 all winning at least their R1 of 50Ks and above and all still in action going into Thursday.
With none of them having anything to defend this week, there should be quite a lot of blue near the top of the top 25 table.
Actually, looking at Alexandrova (who beat Safarova), last week she beat Stephanie Foretz Gacon, Madison Brengle, Arantxa Rus and Tamira Paszek ... so it may not be simply Safarova's lack of intensity (or jitters at playing at home ... or whatever).
Although Heather had been on a bit of a roll, if she is now fully fit and healthy again, after all the matches she played earlier in the year, having a month or so out and then back in decent time before RG and then the grass court season may be no bad thing really.
Slightly ironic that one of her best victories ( in terms of ranking of player beaten) has not increased her points total. Still she can rectify that tomorrow!!
