QR2: Joe Cooper v Alberto Neto (ESP) UNR

QR2: (1) Imran Aswat WR 1209 - to be determined

QR2: (2) David Porter WR 2207 - to be determined

FQR: (q1) Imran Aswat WR 1209 beat Manuel Aragon Domenech (ESP) UNR by 7-5 7-6(6)
FQR: (q2) David Porter WR 2207 beat Eduardo Burgui (BRA) UNR by 0 & 1
FQR: Joe Cooper UNR lost to Alberto Nieto (ESP) UNR by 2 & 3

Switching to today's new rankings for the main draw:

L32: (Q) David Porter WR 2212 v Yan Sabanin (RUS) WR 1017 (CH 1003 last Nov)
L32: (Q) Imran Aswat WR 1147 v Aydyn Akhmetshin (RUS) WR 2212 (CH 2177 in Mar)

The first name of the last player mentioned is transliterated as Aydin in the ATP rankings - I've used the ITF version above.

Imran tweets that the conditions are brutal, horribly hot - although I don't think he can really be surprised! #winningugly.

NB I liked his 'joy' this morning at this new CH - 'slowly but surely' :)

Well done to David though for getting through in the quickest time possible :)

Aydyn served for the second set (having been a break up for most if it). But Imran broke back and now leads 6-5*

A good point for a nice lad.

He is a clay court specialist and definitiely should be breaking into the top 1000 if he can find more "soft" opportunities on clay.

David 4-0 up in the second too. :)

Maybe David is just a hot-weather player who, unfortunately was born a Brit !

L32: (Q) David Porter WR 2212 def. Yan Sabanin (RUS) WR 1017 (CH 1003 last Nov) 6-3 6-0 !!!

(Unfortuantely David gets Jules Marie next, another WC top-seed Frenchman who would have done the Brits a favour to stay at home, but he's not quite in Lucas Pouille's class, see Romanian thread, so one can't gripe quite so much).
