George's doubles partner this week, Freddie Nielsen, or Richard's own doubles partner and Bath colleague Marcus Daniell will await the winner of Richard's match in R2.

That's a nice result from Richard.

He's probably not going to light up the front page of Tennis Today but he's very close to his CH, is about 250 places higher than he was this time last year, it's all good. And good effort from George too

Turns out George was up a set and 4-1 only to lose 11 of the next 13 games

L32: (6) Richard Gabb WR 425 beat Daniel Nguyen (USA) WR 489 (CH 418 last May) by 1 & 3

Richard will find out his next opponent (Nielsen or Daniell) tomorrow.

It is kind of Mr Nielsen to undertake to raise the doubles rankings of numerous young GB players - but it would be nice if he didn't meet them in singles.

Having Freddie as his doubles partner didn't do George much good!
