Indeed - and Daniel has an 8 out of 9 chance of getting a fellow-qualifier or LL in R1 - there are 4 Q v Q matches for 8 qualifiers and a lucky loser with whoever draws the short straw facing 3rd seed Chase Buchanan.
Another coincidence - GB numbers 14, 15, 16 and 17 and all seeded 6 in Futures this week, with the lowest-ranked of them (Josh, here) the only one playing in a 15K rather than a 10K. Of course, the preponderance of under-ranked college players in US Futures means the field here is unlikely to be weaker in reality.

Edited in Daniel's draw above - he didn't draw the short straw His opponent is playing his first ITF event (senior or junior) - the winner of his match will play the winner of Ed's match in R2.

Daniel & his partner have drawn the short straw in the doubles, though:
R1: (1) Ed Corrie & Dan Smethurst CR 416 (218+198 = +79 & +52 places respectively! ) vs BYE R1: (3) Jean-Yves Aubone & Hans Hach (USA/MEX - a fine old Mexican name! The matronymic, is however, Verdugo) CR 1185 (328+857) vs Alexander Centenari (USA) & Daniel Manlow UNR
