A fun fact, or not so fun fact for those that live there, Bakersfield has the worst air pollution of any city in America with 18.2 micrograms of of PM2.5 per cubic meter. The World Health Organisation considers anything above 10 micrograms per cubic meter to be hazardous to health.
Kyle has taken the 1st set 6-3 and is already a double break up in the 2nd at *3-0
*5-0, 10 points in a row including 8 on Garza's serve and it would appear the Mexican has given up completely. Good!
A mini revival at 15-15 but Kyle closes out to 15. 6-3 6-0. A demolition in the end. Bodes VERY well for this week overall, and Kyle seems stronger and stronger as every month passes.

Another point on the board for Kyle - the ranking is going one way. Won 6-3 6-0
8 points coming off on Monday so needs a QF to cover those. A tournament win however should finally give him bragging rights over Beechy - not to mention some really good momentum to take into Miami.
I'm not trying to be controversial, or doubt the tournament plan, but going between 15k's and MD ATP tournaments does seem a little extreme. I'd love Kyle to play more challengers combined with ATP tournaments, but maybe there just aren't any suitable challengers on the schedule at the moment.
Putting that aside great start to the tournament for Kedders.
I am not sure how much the odd ATP is part of any great plan. But if you get the opportunity of a WC into Miami do you turn it down ?? While some of us have questioned its award, Kyle does seem to have a good head on him and can hopefully just take the experience in his stride before getting back to more of the day job of maybe generally mixing challengers with top futures.
Not quite sure how much Kyle is now compromised for potential.grass court WCs come the summer.
