Darren finding it a bit hard going, serve or no. Lost the first set 6-1. But, on serve, 2-1* to him in the second.

He went a break down in the 2nd set too but has just broken back ... only to go (at least 2) break points down again - 1 saved but not the 2nd. Cunha will serve for the match. 1-6 4-5*

R1:  Chris Letcher (AUS) & Darren Walsh CR 556 (250+306) vs (4) Rajeev Ram & Bobby Reynolds (USA/USA) 435 (78+357)

On the face of it, not a very kind draw for a scratch pairing. cry

El-Effendi played in singles qualifying but it looks like their combined rank wouldn't have been good enough. The last acceptance was 627 and while I don't know exactly what El-Effendi's PR is it clearly wouldn't be good enough as his career high is only 315.

Having looked into it. Darren and Adham got into the Dallas challenger in week 6 with a ranking of 713 (they were the last acceptances). Darren's rank at the time was 322 so Adham's PR must be 391.

Good news for all the Estrella fans, as a semifinal win over the Rampras takes him into the top 120. A title here would take him into the top 110, and leave him just about 30 points short of the top 100.
