3 British men in the first round of an ATP tournament outside of the UK would be a bit of a shock to the system. When was the last time that happened? Or is it actually not that long ago? I would be fairly surprised if it happened here (although I am a bit of a pessimist when it comes to British sport) but would love to proven wrong!

Bangkok 2006, when they were even in adjacent slots in the draw! Tim beat Andy 4 & 2 in R1 and Boggo in 3 sets in R2 before going out to Srichaphan in the QFs.
That was just a few weeks after the last time there were 4 Brits in a main tour main draw - Tim, Greg, Andy and Josh Goodall at the 2006 US Open.

Gombos hasn't done much this year - just 14 points in four tournaments. He most recent outing was a 0&3 drubbing by Michael Berrer (remember him?) in Zagreb qualies. I'm more worried about Dino, despite the difference in rankings.
Unforunately there are no super cheap flight options this w/e - hotels would be cheap this time of year.
The other seed in Evo's section has already gone out so Gombos is now the highest ranked player that he can face during qualifying. Win this and he really should qualify quite comfortably, although with Dan that is dangerous.
Dan breaks in game 7
*4-3
