My stream is working again, though Hev was broken back to 4-4 :(

*4-5

Do or die time. Hev not playing well and she is far too passive. Buyukakcay is dictating.

A very long rally on 2nd serve at 30-30 (lots of moonballing from Hev, or maybe it's the camera angle!), which Hev eventually won on her way to a hold for 5-5*

0-30 - I hate to say this, but from what I've seen, Buyukakcay deserves to win this - I still hope she doesn't!!

didn't see that coming cry

Credit to Buyukakcay who played very well in the games I saw (only 5 or 6 at the end) but Hev shouldn't be losing to her.

Doubles is not a dead rubber - losing 1-2 vs 0-3 makes a huge difference to the permutations tomorrow.

Really terrible from both today.

Massive disappointment

So it does look as if Buyukakcay was playing well above her ranking when she beat Svitolina yesterday and unfortunately Turkey played their high ranked junior against Jo. Hopefully that means that Heather and Jo should have a better chance against Ukraine.

It's not next necessarily next year yet if we beat Ukraine ( as it was always likely we would have to do ) Then it is almost certain that GB, Ukraine and Turkey would end the group on 2 ties won each.

Almost certainly need to win the doubles today though to help the maths, and in straight sets please.

Have to give credit to Turkey. Absolutely deserved to win both matches. Heather really lacked her mental fortitude we are so used to seeing.

Hopefully win the doubles and then effectively nothing has changed. Must beat Ukraine.

It's not over, though it probably is if they carry on playing like this.

Assuming Liechtenstein lose all their ties 3-0, there would be a 3-way tie for 1st place if GB can find a way to beat Ukraine tomorrow.

If GB can win the doubles v Turkey, matches won will be:

UKR 5
GBR 4
TUR 3

If TUR then beat LIE 3-0, a 3-0 win for GB v UKR would give:

GBR 7
TUR 6
UKR 5

... and a 2-1 win for GB v UKR would take it to sets won, I think (I haven't checked in detail, but we probably aren't doing too badly there)

However, if TUR beat us in the doubles too, then we would definitely have to beat UKR 3-0 and hope LIE can win at least one rubber v TUR, and even then it would go down to sets won.

Deflating, but it happens
Çağla's having a cracking tie, credit to her. (Edit: Turkish symbols a bit ambitious for ActiveBoard, let's call it Cagla)

Hope for better tomorrow, and some mathematical gymnastics to scrape us through.
