With possible a little bit of luck, Sendy is through his third Q match and into the FQR !

QR3: Alexander Sendegeya UNR def [5] Bastian Malla (CHI) WR 733 7-5 4-1 ret.

That's got to be his CH win, I'd have thought :) (and, yes, the other youngster retired but maybe he retired coz he was losing . . .)

FQR: Alexander Sendegeya UNR v [13] Samuel Benoussain WR 961

Yes, by miles - Malla is only the second ATP-ranked player he has ever beaten - the other one was Park (KOR) in Preston last year, who was ranked 2103 at the time.

Alex says his opponent turned his ankle at 7-5 3-1. Horrible for the Chilean but also suggests it's a legitimate big scalp.

Then with his previous win this is proving quite a tournament for the young man, and he's still not quailfied let alone picked up a point!

Ah yes, 3rd ranked player he has beaten then! I made the rash assumption that all the unseeded players were unranked.
