Would be tremendous for him to make the Olympics.

I remember him looking so pleased in London 2012 to win the bronze by beating Djokovic aftet he lost a marathon SF to Federer. And of course he took silver in Rio 2016, losing the final to Andy.

Belarusian Ostapenkov who has never won or played a main draw event, no ranking, lost in all qualies for M15 events, played a Davis Cup tie in Buenos Aires this weekend - and beat Diego Schwartzmann in straight sets! On clay. Crazy. Most bizarre score line ever!

We were on the same wave length - but you chose a better thread smile

Daniil Ostapenkov, an unranked juniors player (#63 juniors), who never won a title above J5 (lowest category) & recently lost a match to the junior #804 (!!), beats #15 Diego Schwartzman 6-4, 6-3 (!!!) at #DavisCup. ON CLAY.

Following up on post above, Tennis Abstract rate Tallon Griekspoor as 23rd in their ELO ratings.

Higher up they have Jenson Brooksby as 13 and Seb Korda 17th as well.

tennisabstract.com/reports/atp_elo_ratings.html

Watch out for these 3 next year as ELO tends to rank players more on current from then the Atp lists.

Pakistan with 42 year old Aqeel Khan and 41 year old Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi - who have played Davis Cup since 1998 - won two rubbers each to beat Lithuania who had current top 100 guy Berankis and ex top 200 Grigelis.

It was on grass in Islamabad and I'm guessing the court wasn't Wimbledon standard, but pretty amazing still.

As an aside Berankis and Grigelis were the two players who defeated GB in 2010 in John Lloyd's last game as captain, Grigelis beating Dan Evans in the deciding rubber.

Pakistan now in the play-offs for the qualifiers for next year's finals and could face a big team.

Watched the thrilling end to the match of young Swiss player Leandro Riedi, who beat PH Herbert, in a third-set tie-break.

Lugano Challenger

Leandro is just 20, born in 2002. Made the final of RG juniors.

With Stricker, he's part of a really talented pair that Switzerland have suddenly found.

Bit of a drama queen, bless - but brilliant to see all the stadium on its feet and cheering at the end, just for a quali match
