But Mr Cox did beat Mr Kudla before (though this does mean Mr Kudla is somewhat familiar with his game) ... and if he can get beyond the first round, the rest of his section is not impossible.
If Dan E wins his first round he may well have Kyle's nemesis, the Monegasque Balleret in QR2, (which he should win, all the same) and potentially Marc Gicquel after that.
I'm hoping James can get through - can't help feeling he's got the best draw/chance.
Pretty good draws for both Evo and Ward as they have largely avoided those few names that no one wanted to see in their section (Brown, Goffin, etc). Tough draw for Cox but I didn't really fancy his chances whoever he got.

Yes. Cruel as it sounds, if there's one tough draw out there, you'd rather it went to your lowest ranked player than your highest one.

Agreed - especially when that lowest-ranked player has upset Kudla convincingly quite recently, though I'm sure it will be very difficult to repeat that feat.
Anyway, here's the draw with ranking / H2H details:
QR1: Dan Cox WR 251 v (q4) Denis Kudla (USA) WR 113 (CH 90 in Jul)
5th on C13. H2H 1-0, 5 & 0, Sacramento Challenger a few months ago
Other seed in section: (q20) Alex Kuznetsov (USA) WR 141
QR1: (q26) Dan Evans WR 149 v Huang Liang-Chi (TPE) WR 264 (CH 228 in Sep)
1st on C10 at 23.00 GMT
Other seed in section: (q11) Marc Gicquel (FRA) WR 127
QR1: James Ward WR 166 v Andrea Arnaboldi (ITA) WR 213 (CH 206 in 2009)
3rd on C15. H2H 0-1, 5 & 4, Córdoba Fut 2005
Seeds in section: (q27) Pierre-Hugues Herbert (FRA) WR 151 & (q15) Rajeev Ram (USA) WR 132

Just to put all the info together, Cox is in the first quarter, Dan (evans) in the 3rd, and wardy in the 4th.
