British Tour 2014

Strong line up in Graves starting tomorrow - http://lta.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draw.aspx?id=F6F5136D-3634-4645-B416-6FBF1B05EB3F&draw=3

There seems to be a mistake in the draw with Sebastian Rey not seeded despite being higher ranked than four of the seeds.

Well, the 31 year-old guy from Dubai (CH 805) who beat George managed to win his next match and only lost 6-3 7-6 to Neil P.

More 'interesting', perhaps, is that Josh Milton was beaten by Sizya Kivanda (7-5 in the third admittedly but still hardly a great start, for Josh, that is).

 That is a concerning tweet.   George does seem to have struggled with the transition to senior tennis.

I would be cautious about reading too much into the results from British Tour events. Some players treat them as glorified practice sessions.

There are 8 (EIGHT !) top 1000 men (and three top 500 men) playing in this week's British Tour in Billesley . . .

I guess quite a lot fancy some match practice before their opening futures event of the year.

From the Soto site;

In the quarters, looks like Josh WH and Richard Gabb had a right humdinger with 'young' Josh winning the match in a third set tie-breaker.

Josh plays Neil P. later today in the semi (Neil beat Omar Awadhy who'd beaten Todd Martin in two sets).

(In the other quarters, Smethers is playing George C and Bloomers is up against Tom F., results must be in but don't know them).

And courtesy of @sototennis JWH has now taken out Pauffers in straight sets, 7-5 6-3

Would love to see JWH have a really big year.

Oh, yes, me too -  smilesmilesmile - But I don't think it'll be a straight line thing even if it happens (although maybe that's the same for everyone really).

Mr Ward-Hibbert v Mr Smethurst would be good for a Futures final, let alone a Tour one.

Dan S. wins 6-3 6-4

Good luck to both of them in the 'real' tournaments to come . .. .
