Unusually for a 10K qualifying draw, more than half of the players have rankings!
QR1: Tom Allen WR 1654 v (q15) Ho Chih-Jen (TPE) WR 1341 (CH 1110 in 2012) QR1: Harry Meehan WR 1611 v (q12) Cho Soong-Jae (KOR) WR 1233 (CH 488 in 2010)
Unfortunately, Harry has drawn the ex-top 500 player who beat him 3 & 4 in the FQR last week ... and this time (since it's QR1) no chance of a lucky loser place if he doesn't win. Still, both sets were competitive last time, so maybe with the added confidence from last week's R1 win, he can give Cho even more of a run for his money this time.
Josh Goodall should be in the main draw.

An improvement on last week's scoreline against Cho for Harry but very unfortunate to get him 2 weeks in a row.

Ah, close but not to be for Harry. At least, I see the future and confidently predict that Josh will not have such a stiff neck problem as he had last week, so will be able to take part in R1 !
Good spot - Brazil usually has relatively weak draws, making that even more surprising. I guess it's summer there now and there aren't so many tournaments on offer elsewhere in the world at this time of year.

R1: Ramkumar Ramanathan & Colin van Beem (IND/NED) CR 1841 (471+1370) defeated Josh Goodall & Harry Meehan CR 1631 (813+818) by 4-6 6-4 [10-4]
That must've been a tough one to lose.
Talking about "westerners" being upset by Asian players, the Indian took out our old (& more highly ranked) friend, Gavin van Peperzeel, in straight sets in the singles!
