L32: Brydan Klein WR 348 v (WC) Phassawit Burapharitta (THA) WR 1922 (CH 1706 in Jun)

A very kind R1 draw for Brydan. The winner will play 5th seed Jordan Thompson (whose last match with a R2 loss to Brydan in Traralgon) or Borna Coric in R2, with Coric a heavy favourite to make the QFs, I imagine.

A loss to a lower-ranked player but closer than I was expecting given Coric's recent progress:

Brydan fared better in the doubles, though he & Pérez clearly didn't have an easy time of it:
