Week 47 - ITF ($10K) - Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt - Hard

Emily, Dasha, Katie, Manisha and Jessica should all be in the main draw here, with Em likely to be the top seed.

FQR: Dominique Covington UNR v Alessia Piran (ITA) UNR or Ekaterina Lavrikova (RUS) UNR

Think Katie will go well here , the acceptance list isn't particularly strong, but given her luck she will probably draw a high seed in the first round.
I think Jess has been sussed out, word is that her backhand is poor and players are getting to attack this area of her game as a weakness. Not too many soft points available for Dasha this week, who is probably over ranked. Manisha has potential to climb the rankings based on her previous results.

And, after all the to-ing and fro-ing on the other Egypt thread about the standard of the tournaments there and the 'value' of the points:

@GBtennis As thing's stand just now the toughest women's 10k next week (18/11) is...you'll never guess where;) .........Sharm El Sheikh

Maybe our girls got it wrong again ! (Or, indeed, got it right - the points will certainly be earned).

All the girls in action tomorrow, but only the all GB tie in the singles, the rest playing doubles.

Yes - given the 75K there this week, fairly predictable that quite a few of the lower-ranked players in that event would stay on.

Katie won in straight sets and the two doubles matches went the way of the GB girls.

Interesting second round draws - Em should cruise through, but Manisha and Katie could well be close matches. I'm hoping for 2 out of 3.
