Not sure if I'll have any success with this question, but I'm looking to make use of every opportunity I can think of.
Given that there is probably a fair few statisticians on the board, I was just wondering if anybody on here was employed within the financial services, and if so, whether they'd be able to give me tips with regards to obtaining a job in the industry.
I'm eager to move into employment that interests me and something which will give me the opportunity to build a career.
I'm particularly looking at work involving money management and investments.
You'll need a degree, preferably a 2.1 or above from a "proper" university. A First and a PhD in Physics from Oxbridge is ideal. Then just go through the organisation's graduate entry scheme.
Almost all jobs are in London. They're very well paid, but not investment banker money. And you'll need to be an A1 bull****ter to convince yourself that - in spite of all the evidence - you can do better than a tracker fund.
Good Luck!

One could argue this forum has it's very own one of these .
Thanks for the advice. Tbh I think as you've outlined above it's not at all easy to find work in this sort of field. I'm considering perhaps looking for an entry level position within an IFA which I feel might be an easier way to get a 'foot in the door' of working with investments.
