Dave: "I snuck into main draw singles for next week in Knoxville."
Quite a surprise, and that must mean Ed got in too
Another dodgy qualifying draw, with the two unseeded Brits due to meet the top seed in QR1 and QR2 respectively, though George pulling off the upset might virtually guarantee a Brit in the FQR.
QR1: George Coupland WR 827 v (q1) Sanam Singh (IND) WR 366 (CH 293 in 2012) QR1: Josh Milton WR 605 v (wc) Jordan Tucker Daigle (USA) UNR (top 100 junior early last year) QR1: (q3) Dan Smethurst WR 486 v Romain Bogaerts (BEL) WR 1174 (CH 1092 in Aug)

Well, now I agree with you two. Unlike Charlotesville (a 75K), where qualifying was worth 5 points, here you get just 3 points, and I don't think that makes much of a difference inside the top 350.
He may be making surprisingly heavy weather of this against a player who has never beaten a ranked player in seniors before, as far as I can tell, but Josh has just broken in the 7th game of the final set 4-6 6-1 *4-3
