RE: A1 Pharmaceuticals Academy news

Well done Marcus.

In response to someone else's post about why the players don;t use crowdfunding, as opposed to the new Point to Prove sort of corporate sponsorship, I completely agree.

I see quite a lot of crowdfunded projects and am constantly amazed (in a good way mostly) at how much funding some manage to wangle. And, yes, the 'gifts' are key, and a blog, and a feeling of belonging - it's a sort of social media thing at its most powerful.

Go for it, Marcus.

Well done to A1 !

I hope Marcus didn't have too many shandies before Frinton :)

Re Marcus ( and some now old discussions ), I was impressed with how fit he looked in the Edinburgh 10K on a day when he won a 3 set QF ( I think, it was long anyway ), laughed off the prospect of being tired before his next match and then defeated Liam in his SF.

And he looks a rather fit young man there ( in the physically fit sense :) ) Well done on all his work.

Pleased to see your sponsorship of Orpington in the Aegon club league mentioned in the Telegraph, Gary.  Only a sentence buried in an article on County Week but you never know, might encourage another firm to help a local team.

BTW, Mike D's article suggests County Week is a bit of an expensive anachronism but I love it. Always try to pop down to my nearest and watch a bit.  You never know who you'll see and it's fun to see the great, the good and the hopeful all mixed in together.

I saw it as well, nice plug for A1, but the journo might have been Simon Briggs, sorry for raising that one.

Sadly he got it wrong Orpington LTC does not exist anymore . A1 saved the ailing club

Its now called the A1 Pharmaceuticals tennis academy . I was disappointed that journalist did not bother to contact me to get the real story .
