RE: Laura's new coach - potential candidates

And sadly a strapped left wrist, not stopping her practice but still not ideal.

I thought that was just a white Adidas wristband?

Not sure, but I was certainly less concerned when I went backwards from Phil's post to the picture.

And actually, in the Florida heat ( I presume it is still hot ), I would think a wristband more likely than usual.

From TennisForum. Ms Bouchard in the background, checking that her coach isn't giving Ms Robson advice, contrary to clause 15 (b) of their agreement.

More pics on Laura's facebook page.

Haha. Ah it is a tape. Hopefully just precautionary

Is that photograph showing a rather funny perspective or has Laura spread out suddenly?

I think its a funny perspective.

She's had wrist issues in the past, none of them serious, so I'm assuming it's just precautionary as well.

I suspect it has more to do with me adjusting the dimensions of the pic (without paying much thought to how it might make Laura look) because the one on TF is so big. I've now put more thought into it.

Looks like I must have had a few "adjusting dimensions" problems with the Colette Lewis image on the previous page as well. That explains it!

its a big problem it seems - laura just withdrawn from Auckland citing that wrist injury

not the most promising start to the year

According to the tournament director, she is 95%, so I'm assuming doesn't want to risk her appearance at the Oz open. Sounds similarish if not identical to her US buildup. Not great news to wake up to.

What a shame.

Wasn't it her right wrist before the US Open, i.e. really "just" effecting her two handed backhand ( although seemingly a significantly worse injury ) ??

Yes it was. So more worrying that it's her playing arm this time but at least it doesn't suggest a long-term, recurring injury in the way it might have had it been the same wrist as in the summer.

Yes, but the pics from her training camp had shown that it was the other wrist, I don't know what the specific problem is this time, but again it is a wrist problem, so has to be treated with caution. I suspect that she will 100% play in the Oz open, but it is a little strange that having practiced during preseason she is unable to take to the match court.
